What we collect, and why.

1. Account information
When you sign up, we store your name, email address, and a securely hashed password (we never store your password itself). Your session is tracked with a cookie so you stay signed in - no third-party ad trackers are used.
2. Channel data you submit
To run an analysis, you provide public YouTube channel handles (your own and up to a handful of competitors). We fetch public data about those channels and videos via the official YouTube Data API, store the results against your account so your report persists between visits, and cache it briefly to avoid redundant lookups. We do not access private YouTube account data, and we never post, comment, or take any action on YouTube on your behalf.
3. AI-generated analysis
Some report sections (the AI Report brief, demand-signal summaries, thumbnail direction) are generated by sending the already-fetched public channel/video data - not your personal information - to third-party AI providers (Groq and Google Gemini) for processing. These providers do not receive your name, email, or password.
4. Where data lives
Account and report data is stored in a managed database (Turso/libSQL). Session tokens and rate-limit counters are stored in a managed Redis instance (Upstash) with automatic expiry. Both are standard infrastructure providers - we don't sell or share your data with data brokers or advertisers.
5. YouTube API disclosure
NicheReveal uses the YouTube API Services. By using NicheReveal, you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. You can review the Google Privacy Policy for how Google handles data accessed through its APIs.
6. Cookies
We use one functional session cookie to keep you signed in, and a local-storage entry to remember your light/dark theme preference. Neither is used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
7. Your rights
You can request deletion of your account and associated tracked sets/reports at any time by emailing support@nichereveal.com. We'll confirm once it's done.
8. Changes
If this policy changes in a way that materially affects how your data is handled, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
